The Best News I Have Ever Received

I remember the day just like it was just yesterday. That day started out cold and rainy but I still had to get up with the horrible pain in my stomach to travel to the doctor to find out what was wrong. This pain had been bothering me for almost three weeks and I couldn’t take it anymore. I was scared! Just two months before this my husband and I was told that I had possibly developed Endometriosis with the possibility of not being able to have children. We were told that my ovaries had collected a lot of scar tissue and the conception was impossible until the scarring was removed.

Oh and by the way it was the day before my twenty first birthday. I walked into the kitchen to start my morning coffee while I got a shower. I grabbed my clothes and sat them on the bed. I then jumped into the shower and rushed as fast as I could. Appointment time was 9:45 and it was already 8:30. I got dressed, grabbed a donut and poured me a cup of coffee and out the door I went. As I was walking to my car it started to pour down raining. I put the donut in my mouth and used my hand to reach into my purse to grab my keys. Where are my keys?

Where are my darn keys? As I turn around in the pouring rain I see my keys hanging from my front door. “Oh great, I said “I am going to be late. ” I walked back to the door grabbed my keys and walked back to my car, and off I went. Once I arrived at the doctor’s office, the pain was so unbearable that I could not even get out of my car. At this time it was now 9:35 and I had to do something. I opened my door thankfully the rain had quit; I once again tried to stand up. As soon as I stood up I fell to my knees sick to my stomach and sharp pains.

I reached for my cell phone to call the doctor inside. The receptionist answered the phone, “Women’s Pavilion how may I help you? ” I replied “A yes I have an appointment at 9:45 and I am outside but I am in so much pain that I can’t even walk. ” “Oh honey, what car do you drive? I am sending someone out there with a wheelchair now. ” She proceeded to say. “It is a red Chevy Monte Carlo. ” I replied back to her. I sat there for like a minute when a man with light blue scrubs on came to my door with a wheelchair. As he started to help me in the wheelchair I fainted.

The next thing I remember is waking up in the Emergency room with my husband and mother looking over me. “Sammie are you ok? ” my husband said. I replied “Yes what happened? ” Suddenly the doctor walked in with the blood work. “Mrs. Taylor, I am Dr. Dawson, I done some blood work on you while you were passed out and I have the results right here and would like to go over them with you. ” My husband grabbed my hand and we waited for the news. “Mrs. Taylor I am going to send you for an ultrasound because your blood work states that you are pregnant. ” “What? I stated. “I can’t be I was told I can’t have children. ” Suddenly a nurse walked in with a wheelchair and was ready to take me to ultrasound. The ultrasound room was cold and dark. I got changed and ready for the ultrasound. A slim woman with long brown hair walked in and got ready with the equipment. I turned my head to look at the screen and all of a sudden the woman says. “You are four weeks pregnant. ” The embryo was completely covered in scar tissue that it had pushed it out of its way to develop. I started crying tears of joy; I was going to be a mommy.

The woman took a few more pictures and cleaned me up. I got back to the room and told my mom and my husband that was indeed pregnant. My husband started crying and hugging me. My mom grabbed her cell phone to call my dad and tell him the good news. Now I am mother of two beautiful boys and can’t be any happier. My four year old Hunter is too smart for his age and getting smarter every day. He will be going into his second year of Preschool this year. Now my one year old Connor he is my little tyrant. “God may throw you a few curve balls, but just sit back and hold on it will all work out in the end. ”
