When we first arrived on campus my parents hustled me out of the car to go stand in line to get my key and my card activated. This process, while important, was my least favorite part of the day. As my heart pounded with excitement, it stopped suddenly when my eyes came across the other 200 students also moving in at the same exact time. I couldn’t help but wonder if this could have been handled in a better fashion while standing in the endless line for the elevator. Never the less, when me and my father finally got up to the room and opened the door, my heart only sunk lower realizing what I had just gotten myself into.

The room look as if I were about to spend the first semester of my college life in a jail cell. This wasn’t helped by the fact that not five minutes after walking through the door my RA comes in and gives me a list of all the damages and problems in the room. Moldy shower head, stains on the carpets, writing on the walls, just to name a few. After I was settled in my parents and I had a nice lunch and said their goodbyes.
